This cultural and culinary adventure takes you through the scenic and historic outskirts of Antigua, beginning with a ride up to the base of the majestic Volcán de Agua. Sitting at over 2,070 meters above sea level, the indigenous town of Santa María de Jesús welcomes you with its vibrant charm and rich traditions. Here, you’ll get a feel for daily life as you explore the colorful local market in the town square, where locals gather to sell fresh produce, textiles, and handmade goods. The altitude and surrounding landscape offer breathtaking views, making this an ideal spot to start your exploration.
On the way back to Antigua, the journey continues with a stop in the picturesque aldea of San Juan del Obispo, home to some of the region’s finest artisan products. You’ll visit the small but renowned chocolate factory, Chocolate Antigua, where you’ll witness the chocolate-making process from bean to bar and enjoy tastings of their various flavor creations. Just a short walk away is Vinieria Los Lobos, a charming local wine shop where you’ll learn about Guatemalan winemaking and sample unique, locally produced wines. These stops offer a perfect blend of flavor and tradition, highlighting the creative spirit of the region.
The tour concludes in the quiet village of San Pedro de las Huertas, where you'll visit a local jade factory. Here, you’ll observe how raw jade is carefully shaped and polished into intricate pieces of jewelry, while learning about the significance of jade in Guatemalan culture. To end the day on a delicious note, you’ll stop at a local restaurant to enjoy a traditional Guatemalan meal paired with refreshing drinks. This final stop provides a satisfying and flavorful conclusion to a tour that celebrates the culture, craftsmanship, and cuisine of the highlands surrounding Antigua.

The tour was absolutely fantastic and so was my tour guide. I was able to see and do everything that I wanted. I would definitely recommend them.

Antigua Rides was a fun diversion for an afternoon. Not super strenuous or difficult, as long as you have some driving skillz this should be a welcome replacement for walking around the small town yet again (there is only so much one can do in this town of only a few blocks). Our guide Luis had fine English abilities and a charming personality, leading the way but not leaving us behind. A couple of tips: make sure you bring some sort of face covering; following the car in front of you will leave you with a face full of dust. Also bring glasses so that bugs don’t fly in your eyes. In the jungle there are little gnat-like buggies everywhere, and I thanked my glasses every time one of them smacked into my face. We chose the exploration package because we wanted to get into the jungle for a bit, and this tour included around 25 minutes of driving through a winding jungle just above the town. When you get to the top the views are incredible, and it’s nice to see the parks at the top of the hill. After that we went up another mountain to a place called El Hato Verde, which is an Instagram influencer’s heaven with views that rival those found in Bali, Indonesia. (Just don’t order anything at the restaurant… the food was tasteless and disgusting… easily the worst meal we had in Antigua, Guatemala.) So, if you have an afternoon to fill and you want some variety from walking around town, I recommend Antigua Rides.

Thank you so much!! From beginning to end, everyone associated with this business was fantastic. I chose the Hobbitenango ATV adventure, and it didn't disappoint. If I visit Guatemala again, I will definitely stop by for a different tour.

Fantastic! We sent a message over WhatsApp and Instagram and they responded with a catalog with reasonable prices. My husband has always wanted to do an ATV tour and Antigua Rides made his dreams come true. A huge thank you to Jasmine who was our guide. She is extremely knowledgeable about the vehicle and the history of Antigua. She is also a great photographer!! She was super patient with us and if we had more time in Antigua, we most certainly have gone out on another tour with her and this company. Thank you Antigua Rides for this special event for us. We are forever grateful.

Had one of the most amazing tours through the entire city of Antigua!! Visited absolutely espectacular churches, the market, the center of town and got to ride up into the mountains! Phenomenal guides, very safe and lots of fun!!! For those that love the outdoors, a little adventurous while feeling safe, this is the tour to take! Highly recommend it!
